The stars come out to entertain the Varsity Lakes community this Christmas
Some of Queensland’s best singing and musical talents, including old favourite Simon Gallaher, will lead the Varsity Lakes community in song at the “Carols In The Park” evening on Sunday, 7 December.
Theatrical star, singer, musician, pianist, hit songwriter and most recently, respected theatrical producer and entrepreneur, Simon Gallaher, will headline the event to be held in Central Park in Varsity Lakes.
Other feature acts include rising Queensland star and talented Queensland Conservatorium of Music Soprano, Kate Miller-Heidke and theatre performer, Paul Delitt. With over twenty years of experience in musical direction and theatre performance, Paul Delitt takes audiences by storm with an entertaining delivery interwoven with his musical genius.
Local entertainment and community groups including the Gold Coast City Brass Band, the Gold Coast Banana Blenders, Rosella Jam, the Bond University Choir and students from Varsity College will entertain the crowd with Carols and other Christmas-themed entertainment.
To make sure the event ends with a bang, Cr Jan Grew and the Gold Coast City Council have also organised a fabulous firework spectacular.
Varsity Lakes Project Director Carl Bruhn said the combination of the headline acts and local community involvement will make for a special night of entertainment at Varsity Lakes.
“Now in its 2nd year, “Carols in the Park” is set to be bigger and better than ever this year,” said Mr Bruhn.
“The interest and involvement from the local community and Gold Coast entertainment groups has been fantastic. This year’s “Carols in the Park” will be a true community event with residents, children, parents, Bond University and Varsity College students and local business all involved”

Carols In The Park commences at 5:30pm on Sunday December 7, 2003. People are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on and light refreshments will be available for purchase.
