Varsity Lakes Grows Even More Popular
The development of high quality waterfront residential precincts and the continual evolution of Varsity Central as a business and innovation precinct has seen an influx of residents and businesses making the move to Varsity Lakes, according to Project Director Carl Bruhn.

“Since it began in late 1999 Varsity Lakes has proceeded to grow as an outstanding model of an integrated urban economic community, attracting residents and businesses seeking a smarter, more convenient lifestyle for today’s digital age,” Mr Bruhn said.

In the heart of the community lies the rapidly growing business and innovatoin precinct Varsity Central.

The business heart of Varisty Lakes has been designed to attract Small to Medium Enterprise Businesess with a focus on Information Communication Technology (ICT) through innovations such as world-class broadband data communication facilities, enabled through the Pacific Innovation Corridor.

Varsity Central is also home to Delfin’s first inner-urban village, The Quay on Varsity – a residential project that bucks the trend of monotonous town home and apartment living with individually styled waterfront and near waterfront townhomes and apartments.

Strong demand saw Stage 1 sell-out in a matter of days. Stage 2 was released in December 2003, and Stages 3 and 4 will come on line early in the New Year along with the launch of the waterfront Blue Point Apartments at The Quay.

Mr Bruhn said an added bonus for Varsity Central businesses and residents is proximity to the upcoming retail and dining precinct Market Square as well as lake café + bar, which has recently launched a free wireless hot spot provciding high speed internet access to customers.

Outside Varsity Central, Varsity Lakes offers some of the best waterfront living the Gold Coast has to offer.

The crown jewel of the Varsity Lakes community is Azzurra Island. Set in the 80 hectare Lake Orr, Azzurra Island will feature waterfront recreation areas and lake access never before seen in Gold Coast waterfront developments.

“When it was released in May 2003, Azzurra Island was the first premium island land offered on the central Gold Coast in many years,” Mr Bruhn said.

“Pent up demand saw almost all stages sell out on the day of release.

“We have also experienced similar demand for land in Varsity Sound. We expect this demand to continue with the land releases in both Azzurra Island and Varsity Sound throughout January 2004.”

Development of Varsity Lakes commenced in 1999 and upon completion in 2008 it will comprise 3,000 dwellings over 343 hectares. The community includes 20km of hike and bike trails and over 56 hectares of open space.

Recently awarded the “Master Planned Community Award” by Gold Coast City Council, Varsity Lakes adjoins Bond University and is bounded by the 80 hectare Lake Orr and the 18 hole Championship Golf Course Robina Woods. It is located just five minutes from Robina Town Centre, seven minutes from North Burliegh Beach and ten minutes from Pacific Fair.

Varsity Lakes is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of master-planned communities with more than 20 communities around the country.
