Caroline Springs fundraising auction raises $123,000 for local community groups
The Caroline Springs “House of Dreams” fundraising auction turned into a real dream come true for a local cancer foundation and several football clubs, which recently received their share of the $123,000 worth of funds raised on the day.

Cheques were presented on 14 October to the Collingwood Football Club, Williamstown Football Club, Western Jets Inc, Caroline Springs Junior Football Club Inc and the Trevor Barker Foundation, a charity which supports children and their families living with cancer.

The portions of funds raised on the day were shared as follows:
Collingwood Football Club $49 032.89
Trevor Barker Foundation$20 000.00
Williamstown Football Club$24 516.45
Western Jets Inc$24 516.44
Caroline Springs Junior Football Club Inc $5 000.00

Caroline Springs Project Director Martin Gaedke said the success of the “House of Dreams” auction was due to the enthusiastic contributions from all parties involved.

“The House of Dreams auction was a tribute to the dedication of developing and enhancing our community,” he said.

“Money was raised not only for the benefit of charity and local sporting groups, but also to ensure that young people in Western Melbourne have access to great sporting facilities so they can be active from an early age.

“Promoting a healthy and active lifestyle is a really important part of Caroline Springs which is why we’ve developed a community with great parks, walking trails and recreational facilities,” he said.

Situated at Caroline Springs, the “House of Dreams” was a joint venture between Delfin Lend Lease, Burbank Homes and the Collingwood Football Club. The 32 square, two-storey home features four bedrooms, a study, three bathrooms and a fully landscaped garden.

Located just 22 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Caroline Springs will be home to more than 23,000 people in 8,000 homes by around the year 2013. It is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of master-planned communities with more than 20 communities across Australia.
