Inner urban village delivers hassle-free city living to Lakeside at Pakenham
Homeowners looking for an inner urban lifestyle without the hassles of city living have eagerly embraced the new range of individually styled apartments and freehold-title terrace-style homes at Lakeside at Pakenham.
Lakeside Place, a unique residential precinct located in the heart of Lakeside at Pakenham, will eventually feature more than 100 homes and townhouses and offer residents unfettered access to the community’s retail, recreation and entertainment hub.
The first stage, released just two weeks ago, has already sold eight of the 17 dwellings. The majority of the sales have gone to mature couples looking to downsize. The dwellings, which range in price from $239,000 to $380,000, have been designed and built by Metricon and sold by Delfin.
Lakeside at Pakenham Project Director Ian Heath said Lakeside Place had been developed in response to research which showed that many home buyers wanted an inner urban lifestyle, but were deterred by the limited housing choice, lack of privacy and the hassles which came with city living.
He said the development also provided planned and sustainable high density, in line with the Victorian Government’s Melbourne 2030 strategy, while creating attractive and liveable suburban hubs.
“Lakeside Place offers the best of both worlds. Residents will have the opportunity to live in a cosmopolitan, urban setting but still have the benefits of housing choice, extensive landscaping and being part of a genuine community,” Mr Heath said.
“Unlike other inner city developments, every home in Lakeside Place is unique, offering unprecedented housing choice and flexible living spaces. Every home is within walking distance to the Village Centre, featuring a future supermarket and restaurants, the recreational lake and lakefront café, parks, sporting facilities and the $6 million Cardinia Cultural Centre.”
Mr Heath said the homes and townhouses were the result of a collaboration with leading Melbourne architects.
“The homes are very innovative and use clever design to offer residents the benefits of genuine low-maintenance, flexible living spaces, with plenty of natural light. The increasing trend of outdoor living has also been catered for, with the homes featuring indoor living areas which flow seamlessly to outdoor living spaces ideal for entertaining and alfresco dining.”
The 222-hectare Lakeside at Pakenham project will be developed over the next six years and will have a population of 6,500 people.
