CS Square delivers retail convenience to Melbourne’s West
Western Melbourne residents now have access to a new retail and convenience hub following the opening of CS Square, part of the planned $155 million Caroline Springs Town Centre.
Covering 35,000sq m, the $25 million CS Square features the Coles’ flagship supermarket for the western region of Melbourne. When complete it will include 21 specialty stores, such as a hairdressing salon, florist shop, butchery, bakery, deli, café, juice bar and pharmacy, along with restaurants and food outlets offering pizza/pasta, noodles, fish and chips and kebabs.
CS Square, located on Lake Street, Caroline Springs, will be opened by the Melton Shire Mayor at 9am on 6 December 2004.
The opening of CS Square coincides with the opening of the comprehensive Medical Centre providing allied health services, such as radiology and pathology, which will open in December 2004 in the Town Centre.
Situated alongside the 7.8 ha Lake Caroline, the 132.5ha Town Centre will also be home to four schools, a library and resource facility, a civic centre, an indoor sport and recreation centre and outdoor recreational and sporting facilities, including playing fields, tennis courts and netball courts.
Caroline Springs Project Director Martin Gaedke said CS Square would deliver shopping convenience, while creating employment and business opportunities in the area.
“Caroline Springs is already emerging as a thriving community and the Town Centre will further emphasise that Caroline Springs is much more than just a place to live. It will offer residents convenience, lifestyle and facilities on their doorstep,” he said.
“I believe it will also lure more discerning homebuyers to the region as they realise the facilities we are providing and plan to provide in the near future.
“Fostering business and employment in the region is also an important goal of this project and CS Square will work towards that.”
Covering more than 800 hectares, the masterplanned community of Caroline Springs is already home to more than 7,800 Melbournians. Caroline Springs is expected to be home to more than 23,000 people in 8,000 homes spread across 13 villages.
Caroline Springs is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s leading urban developer with more than 20 projects across the country.media
