Delfin Lend Lease Adapts to tackle housing affordability & innovation
Delfin Lend Lease will this month open the doors on Australia’s most flexible home, Adaptus, which uses minimal internal walls to allow homeowners to easily tailor spaces into rooms and maximise their individual lifestyle needs.

The result of two years of research and development, the new Adaptus home designs also tackle the growing problem of housing affordability in Australia with house and land packages starting from $190,000.

Melbourne is the first market to pilot the new Adaptus home designs, which will be rolled out across Delfin Lend Lease communities over the next 12 months.

Delfin Lend Lease Chief Operating Officer David Keir said Adaptus catered to the emerging housing market where homebuyers were more price-conscious and looking for homes which matched their needs perfectly.

“The homes are spacious and light with clean lines, polished concrete or wooden floors, tall windows, a cathedral ceiling, and optional glass or bi-fold doors flowing to the outside courtyard – the sorts of inclusions you would not expect in an affordable home.”

Delfin Lend Lease’s principle architect Stephen Birrell said Adaptus was another of Delfin Lend Lease’s exciting new design products to be released as an alternative to traditional housing options.

“We began work on Adaptus two years ago after we conducted market research and identified consumers were bored with the range of affordable housing on the market and they wanted something fresh, new and modern,” he said.

“Adaptus has taken flexible living to a new level. Homeowners are no longer forced to use a particular space in a set way but can easily adapt it so it can be used for a variety of purposes.

“We expect Adaptus to appeal to a range of homebuyers - from young and funky singles to mature down-sizing couples.

“The fresh approach to affordable design continues outside with the use of contemporary colours and a fresh combination of textures to the elevations.”

Adaptus is the latest Delfin-designed product following the Warehouse, Town Cottage, Villas and Soho designs, making Delfin the largest Australian developer to invest in products to suite niche and emerging markets.

Ranging in size from 101.mē to 118mē in living space, and with prices starting from $190,000 for a house and land package, Adaptus are on display at Caroline Springs in Western Melbourne and Lakeside at Pakenham in South-East Melbourne from 19 February.

Delfin Lend Lease is Australia’s leading urban developer with more than 20 projects across the country.
