Delfin Lend Lease leads the way for safe communities
With more than 2,000 fatal injuries occurring nationally in workplaces each year, Delfin Lend Lease has bolstered its commitment to leading the way in the creation of Incident & Injury Free communities at a conference in Townsville beginning today.

Delfin Lend Lease will also talk about the methods they implement to assist in the creation of sustainable safe communities.

The Queensland Safe Communities Conference on Thursday and Friday, 12 and 13 October, will include advice on safe communities, preventing injuries in the home, crime preventions, workplace injury and smart housing.

The program will also look to increase public knowledge of effective safety intervention programs, as well as facilitate a network for key safe communities stakeholders.

Delfin Lend Lease Chief Operating Officer David Keir will showcase the recent progress of Delfin Lend Lease’s safe communities state-wide as well as encourage participation on the World Health Organisation’s Safe Communities program.

“Delfin Lend Lease is thrilled to have the opportunity to share our vision and commitment of Incident & Injury Free housing with the Townsville community,” Mr Keir said.

“Guests will also be given the opportunity to be involved in discussion forum sessions to voice their feedback and opinions on safe communities.”

The Queensland Safe Communities Conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, 12 and 13 October from 9am to 5pm at Jupiter’s Casino, Townsville.

Keynote conference speakers include Mr Keir, Director Safe Communities New Zealand Dr Carolyn Coggan, BHP Billiton’s MArk Daniell and MPH’s Susan Gallagher.

Delfin Lend Lease’s Shane O’Brien, Terry Hamilton and Guy Gibson will also speak at the conference.

Delfin Lend Lease’s Safe Communities alliance aims to increase local, usable knowledge in local communities.
