Forde’s latest land release makes a splash with eager homebuyers
Over 40 eager homebuyers congregated at Forde on the weekend, snatching up a new residential block almost every 10 minutes at the community’s special double land release on Saturday (17 October).
From early morning a stream of eager buyers arrived to secure their block in Canberra’s most popular masterplanned community. By lunchtime, 31 residential blocks were sold, leaving only 25 blocks available in The Ponds and Mulligans Flat villages.
Forde Project Director Gavin Kemp said he was delighted with the turnout, attributing the community’s success to its range of quality land, architecturally-designed homes and its hectares of open space and green parklands.
“We were thrilled to see so many families and homebuyers visit Forde on the weekend to see for themselves our magnificent community. Selling 31 blocks of land in around five hours is a huge achievement and is a testament to Forde’s popularity with Canberra homebuyers,” he said.
“The land release ran in conjunction with the launch of Forde’s beautiful and tranquil ponds network, which includes community barbeque facilities, walking trails and picnic areas.
“Over 750 people celebrated the launch with Freddo the Frog making the biggest splash with the kids. The petting zoo and clowns were a big hit, along with the Finding Nemo jumping castle.”
Since the community was publicly launched in November 2006, the community has sold a total of 750 blocks ranging in size from 286sqm to 1147sqm, with prices ranging between $130,000 and $393,000.
