Mayor unveils new park at Woodlands
Logan City Mayor Pam Parker will officially open stage 1 of District Park at Delfin Woodlands on Saturday 16 January, as part of the flagship event for the community’s Summer Buzz Festival 2010.

The launch will coincide with a free Family Fun event from 4pm to 7.30pm and will feature Slip ‘n’ Slide Fun, Adventure Links Treasure Hunt, rock climbing, pony rides, animal farm, face painting, jumping castle, markets, and a fireworks finale.

Upon completion, Woodlands District Park will be the equivalent size of approximately nine football fields and will feature something for everyone.

The six-hectare park will have a separate toddler and children’s area, a skate and bike area and rock climbing blocks for the older kids, as well as two multipurpose sports courts, shelters and barbeque facilities, public art, hike and bike trails and a performance stage.

Woodlands Project Director Greg Tupicoff said the District Park would offer a fantastic recreational space for residents and locals of all ages.

“To celebrate summer and the school holidays, this year’s Summer Buzz will see the launch of the long-awaited District Park in Park Central at Woodlands which will include something for everyone, with playgrounds for children and plenty of green open space.”
