Woodlands lights up for Christmas
With more than 100 families now calling Woodlands home, competition is set to be incredibly fierce, with a cash prize of $1000 on offer.

A judging panel will put decorated homes under the microscope against a number of criteria, including visual appeal, decoration variety, safety, uniqueness and overall impact.

Woodlands Project Director Greg Tupicoff said given the community spirit evident in Woodlands, this year’s competition will be hotly contested, with residents going to head-to-head for a $500 first prize.

“There’s a real buzz around the community about what everyone’s going to come up with this year – the choice of themes and products are endless.”

“Whatever our residents come up with, I can guarantee it will be a spectacle bigger and better than ever before, and certainly worth a look.”

Delfin Woodlands is also rewarding entrants with a $300 second prize, and $200 cash for third.

Mr Tupicoff also said the competition will be a tremendous opportunity for the Woodlands community to showcase the variety of family-oriented facilities, services and spectacular views residents have grown to love.

“The competition is living proof of the unique community spirit and energy that is Woodlands.”

“More than one family relocates to Woodlands every week because they want to be apart of a real community with first-class facilities – this is our opportunity to show everyone what we do best,” Mr Tupicoff said.

Those residents are being encouraged to vote for their favourite home/light display between Monday 10 December and Thursday 13 December 2007. One lucky voter will even scoop $200 worth of Christmas lights for their effort.

Entries into the competition close on Friday 7 December 2007.

The all-important judging panel will consist of staff from Delfin Lend Lease and Residents of the Woodlands Community Inc Committee. Judging will take place on Thursday 13 December 2007 from 7pm.
The competition winners will be announced at the annual Woodlands Residents Christmas Party, to be held in the Woodlands park from 1- 3pm on Sunday 16 December 2007.

Upon completion in 2011, the 137-hectare Woodlands community will be home to more than 3,500 people with more than 30 hectares of open space including a 17-hectare environmental corridor and seven kilometers of cycle and pedestrian paths.

Woodlands is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of masterplanned communities, with 16 trading projects nationally.
